Supporting 160 MWH Battery Storage Project in Romania

Major transitions often start quietly with trusted collaboration, bold innovation, and a shared vision for a more resilient future. Here’s a glimpse of how our latest work in Romania brings this vision to life in new energy transition projects…

We are proud to support BLEnergy on a ~160 MWh battery energy storage project in Romania, where we’re delivering Contel’s Energy Storage Management System (ESMS) as the integration backbone of the site.

This milestone builds on our growing partnership and shared commitment to advancing renewable infrastructure across the region.

Romania’s renewable energy market is accelerating rapidly. In 2025 alone, more than 2.2 GW of new solar capacity was installed. With more than 7.5 GW of solar PV already installed and based on the current market outlook and projects in development, Romania is on track to exceed the 10 GW solar target by 2030 set in its National Energy and Climate Plan.

It’s clear this market has become one of Central and Eastern Europe’s most dynamic catalysts for sustainable growth.

Projects of this scale demand teamwork, precision, and trust. Our ESMS ensures safe and efficient coordination between CATL battery systems and Kehua Digital Energy conversion skids, enabling seamless communication, real-time monitoring, and disciplined control that keep complex systems performing as one.

I’m grateful to our teams across Contel Smart Energy and BLEnergy for their dedication and excellence in making these innovations a reality in the field. Together, we’re proud to play our part in shaping Romania’s energy transition and the resilient grids of tomorrow.
