We are proud to be part of a defining moment for Israel’s renewable energy landscape.
The ๐ซ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐ ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐๐, the largest renewablesolar installation ever built in Israel, has officially reached financial close and is breaking ground in the Negev desert.
At 300 ๐๐๐ฉ across more than 3,100 dunams, this EDF power solutions Israel project, constructed by Nextcom group, sets a high standard for utility-scale renewable energy in the Region.
Contel Smart Energy will deliver the PPC (Power Plant Controller) and SCADA systems. At such a large scale, this technology stack is critical infrastructure for the project.
A plant of this size injects significant power into the national grid, which means it must behave like a conventional power station with high precision control.
- Contel’s PPC continuously regulates active and reactive power output to meet strict grid codes even as irradiance conditions shift throughout the day.
- Contel’s SCADA aggregates data from hundreds of inverters, tracker systems, meteorological stations, and protection systems into a single operational picture.
Moreover, Contelโs SCADA will also monitor the ๐๐ข๐ ๐ก ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ญ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฆ.
It will enable rapid fault detection, performance ratio monitoring against actual irradiance, and predictive maintenance.
Together, these systems ensure the Dimona plant operates with the precision, reliability and grid compliance that a project of this magnitude demands.
Congratulations to the entire EDF Power Solutions and Nextcom teams, and all partners involved. This is infrastructure that will power Israel for decades to come.
