As lithium batteries naturally degrade over time, forward-thinking operators are implementing battery augmentation by adding new units, whether from the same supplier or from different ones, with higher capacities to maintain site power.

However, this creates a significant technical challenge: how do you balance mixed battery scales and disparate charge/discharge profiles?

At the Revadim Agro-PV & BESS project with Doral, we helped to address this complexity by moving beyond uniform charging logic. Our team developed Autonomous Station Balancing, a custom feature within our Energy Management System that automatically recalculates and distributes power setpoints as new batteries are added.

This intelligent orchestration layer ensures full utilization across unequal systems, eliminates premature discharge cutoffs to capture high-tariff windows, and significantly reduces manual intervention.

As Ariel Ifrah, Director of Asset Management at Doral, noted, our commitment and creative problem-solving were essential to overcoming the unique challenges of this pioneering dual-use site.
