Implementing Microgrid Management in Complex Urban Area with EDF

Working with Inductive Automation on our case study with EDF Power Solutions gave us a rare opportunity to step back, review this outstanding and complex microgrid project end-to-end, and capture what truly made it successful.

Two highlights worth calling out:

  • EDF’s first urban microgrid in the Tel Aviv metro area is built around a 20 MWh BESS and can power a school campus for 1-2 days without a grid connection.
  • Value stacking in practice: energy shifting, reducing grid congestion, and the ability to disconnect from the grid when needed.

With Contel Smart Energy’s Energynie built on Ignition, we already see a broad spectrum of additional success stories we are eager to turn into future case studies.

Our sincere appreciation to our partners at EDF, Ilan Kotlovski and Mika Reichel, for the time, openness, and collaborative spirit that made this case study both insightful and really smooth to produce.
