Are electric cars becoming a new source of energy production?
Not yet, but this might come true soon with the rapid rise of Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) worldwide. The V2G model, where EVs both consume and return energy to the grid, is a very promising trend with a global V2G market expected to soar to $62B by 2033 (per IMARC Services Private Limited Group).
At Contel Smart Energy, we see V2G as a powerful vision with immense potential. While V2G technology is still evolving, we’re already involved in two pilot projects leading in that direction:
- B2C: Solar + Storage powered EV charging stations
- B2B: Energy management for electric bus parking facilities
The convergence of mobility and energy is not here yet, but it’s clearly on the horizon. Smart orchestration of energy sources, vehicles, and storage will be key to building the grid stability and resilience of the future.
